Biography

Chris is Chair of the Financial Services Practice. He provides legal advice concerning a broad range of legal issues, including compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations applicable to financial institutions; transactional matters; corporate governance issues; and litigation avoidance and management. Chris also advises clients in connection with state and federal lending, deposit, debt adjustment/management, credit service business, money transmission, and privacy statutes and regulations. Chris helps clients with:

•Regulatory compliance
•Licensing requirements and applications
•Negotiation and review of vendor agreements
•Marketing review and compliance
•New product structure and documentation
•Development of on-line policies, including terms and conditions of use, and privacy policies
•Business entity choice, entity formation, and preparation of corporate documents
•Review and negotiation of lease agreements

He focuses on helping clients manage risk and identify and implement proactive solutions to complex problems and advance business goals. Previously, Chris was General Counsel for an enterprise holding company and subsidiaries in the debt relief industry. Prior to that, Chris served as Associate General Counsel and Vice President of a large regional bank.

After graduation from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1996, Chris served as a Clerk for the Honorable Joseph F. Murphy, Jr., then Chief Judge of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.
